Collection: Babaco
Babaco was founded in Tokyo in 2013 by Yoko Shiraishi, who spent nearly a decade at ANTIPAST, a Japanese brand celebrated for its intricate, art-driven textiles, before striking out on her own. The name comes from an Andean plant, a nod to something warmer and more instinctive running alongside the Japanese precision. Everything is made in Japan using local factories and artisans, with yarns that push into experimental territory: paper-like fibres, sheer lurex, intricate jacquard, twisted cottons that stretch without losing their shape.
