HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY…

When one thinks of Australia, images of direct opposites come to mind, expanses of harsh barren deserts juxtapose against tropical waters teeming with life.
To celebrate this beautiful country and the creativity that is Australian fashion today, we will be holding an installation in store from Friday the 16th January to Sunday the 1st of February.

The organic seems to blossom from every facet of this country, so what better way to express Australia than by drawing inspiration from the natural world. Centred around a twisted tree, with branches that are anxiously exposed, swaying adrift and ready to entangle themselves with anything that comes in reach.
Within the tree, a series of Australian butterflies and moths have nested in its sprawling branches. Twisting and forming a nest that is constructed with immediacy and rawness.
Surrounding this distorted centre piece, sits two human figures that are slowing becoming part of their environment, insects cover their faces as feathers and animal bones sprout from their heads and hands.

Each element of the work representing a different part of this continually fascinating landscape we call home.
