MATERIALBYPRODUCT was founded by Susan Dimasi and Chantal McDonald in 2002. As designers they see each collection as the next step in developing process, analysing and interrogating that which cloth will undergo to become a garment, rather than simply sewing pieces of fabric together.

As inventors, MATERIALBYPRODUCT has designed new ways for cutting, joining, marking, draping and tailoring cloth; all the fundamentals of garment making that are often overlooked or worked through with standard and habitual processes.

Boris Bidjan Saberi hails from Barcelona and is the rising star in the recent Paris Collections. The search for perfection and his attention to detail are the driving forces of the creative spirit behind his collections. This has led him to design in a very personal way, filled with almost timeless pieces.

His understanding of materials such as wool, leather, silk bamboo and cotton allow him to create new variations of them by applying manual techniques. Using wax and heat treatment, he alters their appearance while maintaining their essential characteristics. His aim is to give his garments character by stamping them with the imprint of fictitious owners. Certain parallels can be found with architecture.

The clothing is constructed through seams and details that are the foundations of anatomical structures allowing for total freedom of movement.

The designer of Flos ad Florem,Brunella Caccaviello proposes luxury bijoux conceived with the spirit and the quality of an Haute Couture product.

The Flos & Florem Spring/Summer 2008 collection is characterized by the use of the gros-grain ribbons that is hand-worked and combined with Swarovski crystals and pearls.

The collection is a personal interpretation of the deco style. It proposes three different kinds of working techniques of the gros-grain – the weave, the plissé and the rolling up – that allow to obtain three-dimensional shapes and volumes like modern origami.The colors characterizing the collection are combinations of sand with black, fern green with slate, black on black and petunia pink with must.
